What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to Viktoria Schütz, an early German Bahá’í. The original text has not been published; it was kindly provided to me by Alexander Meinhard, who has told me that Schütz was responsible for bringing Adelbert Mühlschlegel, a Hand of the Cause of God, into the Bahá’í Faith. A scan of that original text, likely written in the hand of one of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s scribes, can be found here.

Care of the wife of Consul Schwarz, upon her be the glory of God, the All-Glorious

To that handmaid of the heavenly Kingdom, Miss Viktoria Schütz, upon her be the glory of God, the All-Glorious

He is God.

O herald of the Kingdom of God! Thy letter hath arrived. Its contents bespoke inner truths and meanings, and gave evidence of thy firmness and steadfastness in the divine Kingdom. Thou art truly a sincere and devoted Bahá’í. Rest thou assured that the confirmations of the Kingdom have descended and will continue to descend upon thee. When thou arisest to speak, turn thy face toward the Abhá Kingdom and open thy lips; inspirations from the unseen realm shall come to thine aid. With all thy might, speak forth and spread the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh. In public gatherings, expound the divine principles and impart the glad tidings of the oneness of humanity. Since some are weak, in that they cannot bear to have every matter set forth before them, therefore in public assemblies proclaim the joyful tidings of the divine teachings, while in private gatherings thou mayest present whatsoever thy heart desireth.
