“This precious soul hath ascended unto the Kingdom where all things are visible…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a prayer from ʻAbduʼl-Bahá. The original text can be found in Bishárat al-Núr, p. 491.

He is God, Exalted is He

O Thou Provider, O Thou Forgiver! This precious soul hath ascended unto the Kingdom where all things are visible, and hath hastened from this ephemeral dust-heap unto the everlasting realm. He is a guest, newly arrived; treat him as one of Thy dear ones. He is Thy veteran servant; attire him with a new and wondrous robe.

O Thou Who art independent of all things! Grant him Thy pardon, confer upon him Thy gentle care, guide him unto the sanctum of Thy mysteries, and make him Thy companion in the concourse of dazzling lights.

Thou, verily, art the Giver, the Bestower, the Ever-Loving, and Thou art the Ever-Forgiving, the Tender One, the Most Powerful.
