What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet by Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which appears in a manuscript collection held at the Afnán Library known as “Folder 18,” p. 498. This Tablet was probably revealed for Sárih Khánum since Bahá’u’lláh often called her ukht (Arabic for “sister”), which is how she has been addressed here.
He is the Almighty, the All-Glorious
My sister! Hearken to the voice of thy Brother as He suffereth at the hands of them that wish to slay Him without any proof or clear evidence from their Lord, the Most Merciful. What hath befallen Me cannot be recounted in words, and over it weepeth sore the eye of majesty and grandeur upon the throne of supernal glory, but let nothing grieve thee. Raise up thy hands in worship, then place them on thy knees in devotion, that thou mayest be reckoned with the adoring handmaids in mighty and well-guarded Tablets.
