“…It is, in this day, incumbent upon every soul to be as engaged as possible in aiding the Cause with the utmost wisdom…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet by Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which has been published in Áyát-i-Iláhí, vol. 2, p. 61According to a manuscript copy of this Tablet held at the British Library (Or15710, p. 151), the Tablet was addressed to a certain Ghulám-‘Alí.

O Ghulám! Thou didst previously receive a Tablet from the Lord of humankind, and now, too, in token of His bounty unto thee, this Tablet of supreme sublimity and holiness is being revealed, that with all thy heart and soul thou mightest arise to serve the Cause of God and come forth with complete steadfastness. It is, in this day, incumbent upon every soul to be as engaged as possible in aiding the Cause with the utmost wisdom. Well is it with whosoever attaineth thereto, and woe betide them that remain shut out as by a veil. The fruit of the existence of the children of men is the recognition of God and the assistance of His Cause; any soul who hath achieved this hath attained to all good. To serve, moreover, is to teach the Cause of God with absolute wisdom, as hath been revealed in all the Tablets. God willing, thou mayest ever quaff His imperishable Wine and fix thy gaze toward Him.

A typescript of the original Persian text of the Tablet appears below.
