What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet of Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which has been published in Áthár-i-Qalam-i-A‘lá, vol. 1 (1996 ed.), p. 453 (selection no. 200).
He is the All-Subduing
O Karím! Hear thou the voice of thy Lord, the Most Glorious, coming from the Divine Lote-Tree; it proclaimeth, “There is, in truth, none other God but Him, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting!” Abandon the mere cup, then hasten to the Most Great Ocean itself. I swear by God that this day shall not profit thee, even wert thou to cleave tenaciously to what hath been fashioned through His utterance, “Be, and it is.” Forsake other books and allusions, for lo, the King of Names and Attributes is come, invested with power and sovereignty. Rein in thy pen and hearken to what is being revealed by the Pen of the Most High, then magnify the praise of thy Lord in this Day whereon men’s feet have faltered. Will those around thee avail thee aught? Nay, by the Revealer of verses! Soon will the world perish, and none shalt thou find to protect thyself. By God! The wings of the Peacock are spread out in Paradise, and the Nightingale warbleth in manifold accents upon the branches, yet do We hear from the transgressors the croaking of the raven. Turn thou toward the Cynosure of the world; He is indeed the Greatest of Paths amidst mankind.
Thus have We announced to thee the Straight Path and guided thee thereunto. Shouldst thou listen, to thine own behoof wilt thou listen; and shouldst thou reject it, verily He is the All-Possessing, the Most Powerful, the Almighty, the All-Compelling.
