“Glorified art Thou, O Lord my God! These are my hands; I have lifted them up to receive the descent of Thy mercy…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a prayer by Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which has been published digitally on the Bahá’í Reference Library at this link

He is

Glorified art Thou, O Lord my God! These are my hands; I have lifted them up to receive the descent of Thy mercy. These are my feet; I have risen to them in Thy presence. This is my neck; I have made it submissive to Thy sovereignty and humble before Thy divinity. This is my tongue; I have caused it to utter Thy praise. These are my eyes; I have opened them to behold Thy beauty and witness the signs of the handiwork of Thy Godhood. This is my sight; I have directed it to look upon Thy Countenance and its splendor. This is my heart; I have infused it with the sweetness of Thy love and the wonders of Thy knowledge, and filled it with fear of Thee. This is my soul; I have enraptured it with ecstasy for Thee. This is mine inmost being; I have stirred it with a longing to be reunited with Thee and stand in Thy presence. These are my vitals; I have given them to drink the very essence of life from the cups of Thine affection and the chalices brimming with the wine of Thy favor. This is my body; I have roused it with the verses of Thy holiness and the letters of intimate communion with Thee. This is my volition; I have tethered it with the ropes of Thy purpose and secured it with the poles of Thy will. This is my temple; I have seated it before Thee and made it eager for the rulings of Thy decree and the evidences of Thy behest. This is my throat; I have stretched it out for the swords of Thy power and the spears of Thy might, for in Thy wrath, O my God, are repositories of mercy hidden and treasuries of glory enshrined.

Magnified, immensely magnified art Thou, O my God! Broken be the necks of those who humble not themselves before Thy divinity and show no submissiveness in the face of Thine eternity! Shattered be the limbs of such as refuse to fear Thy dreadful might and tremble at Thine awful majesty—they who yearn not for all that Thou lovest from among the dazzling flashes of Thy decree and the manifold dimensions of Thy command!

Glorified, immeasurably glorified art Thou, O my God! I beseech Thee by Him Whom Thou hast made the Manifestation of Thy Self, the Fountainhead of Thine Essence, and the Wellspring of Thy glory, to set us ablaze with the fire of Thy love and attract us with Thy light. Thou, verily, art the God of power, of strength, and of bounty.
