What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a passage from a Tablet of Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which appears in INBA, vol. 51, p. 598.
That which is now existent and manifest will soon disappear, yet whatever deed hath been performed by any soul to assist God, though it be but a single breath drawn for the love of Him, shall remain and endure forever, and the effects thereof will be made evident in all the realms of God through wondrous and sublime expressions. This is God’s hidden bounty, of which none is apprised. Should the fingers of divine power rend asunder this veil, ye would witness every one sacrificing themselves in the path of the Friend with the utmost devotion, consummate yearning, and supreme steadfastness, accounting all that existeth in the world and whatsoever pertaineth unto it as utter nothingness. Inasmuch as the preservation of souls for the assistance of God’s Cause is observed in accordance with the exigencies of divine wisdom, this matter hath remained unrevealed and concealed within the veils of the unseen. Blessed are ye for having attained, and arisen, and turned towards God, and hearkened, and proclaimed: “Here am I, here am I, O Beloved of the worlds!” These are pearls and treasures that shall remain protected in the hidden repositories of God.
