What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a passage from a Tablet of Bahá’u’lláh, the original text of which is published in Áyát-i-Iláhí, vol. 2, pp. 239–40.
The dark clouds of corrupt desires have obscured the horizon of true guidance, yet God shall dispel them through the power of truth. He, verily, is the Omnipotent, the Almighty. Notwithstanding that the Ocean of utterance surgeth with the fullness of its waves, and the horizon of proof shineth resplendent with the Luminary of knowledge, ye see what a station the people occupy and unto what things they cleave. They have accounted a number of the ignorant as learned, and have, at the bidding and leave of those heedless souls, been debarred and kept back from the Dayspring of the Light of the One True God. . . . Though today the divines of this age have become a veil between God and His creation, yet erelong shall all confess their loss and speak forth in praise of the loved ones of God. Should all the peoples of the earth unite and strive, with the utmost endeavor and exertion, to quench the Light of God and extinguish the Fire of His Word, they would be incapable thereof and find themselves powerless to do so.
