What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet by Bahá’u’lláh. The addressee has not been explicitly identified, but it was probably Mír ‘Abdu’r-Raḥím, an early believer who resided in the city of Qamṣar in Iran. The original text has not been published, but a facsimile of the original text held at the Baháʼí World Center Archives was kindly provided to me by Amir Vojdani, the great-great-grandson of Mír ‘Abdu’r-Raḥím.
He is God, the Exalted, the Most High
Rejoice in thine inmost soul and exult in the very essence of thy being, then detach thyself from all that hath been created in the past and all that shall be fashioned in the future, in order that thy heart may become sanctified from suggestions of glory, and that upon thee may be shed the effulgent lights of holiness and beauty. Such hath been Our counsel to thee aforetime, and thus do We impart it unto thee now. Act thou accordingly and be not of those who hinder the people from the Path of God—they who prevent Our servants from embarking upon the pathways of divine guidance even as they deem themselves to be guided aright.
Convey Our greetings unto him who is with thee, and whom We have answered with a love that defieth all mention and description. “Peace be upon him who followeth the way of guidance!”[1]
