“Ease our affairs, O Lord, and gladden our hearts…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a prayer from ʻAbduʼl-Bahá, the original text of which is published in Majmúʻiy-i-Munáját: Ḥaḍrat-i-ʻAbduʼl-Bahá, p. 294 (passage no. 264).

Ease our affairs, O Lord, and gladden our hearts. Show us such beneficence as is born of Thine abundant bounty, and cause us, by Thy mercy, to enter the Paradise of blissful joy, O Thou the Almighty, O Thou the Ever-Forgiving.

A typescript of the complete Arabic text of this prayer appears below.

رَبِّ يَسِّرْ الأمور و اشرَح الصّدور و اسمُح بالفضل الموفور و أَدخِلنا فی جنّة السّرور و الحبور برحمتک يا عزيز و يا غفور
