“O my self-sufficient Lord, the Knower of my intimate secrets, my tender Companion! Sweeten Thou the palates of those long-standing friends…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a prayer of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the original text of which is published in Majmúʻiy-i-Munáját-há: Ḥaḍrat-i-ʻAbduʼl-Bahá, p. 351 (selection no. 312).

He is God

O my self-sufficient Lord, the Knower of my intimate secrets, my tender Companion! Sweeten Thou the palates of those long-standing friends. Make them precious servants at the threshold of Thy divinity, and grant them the seats of honor at the court of the exalted ones. Thou art the Compassionate, the Beneficent, the Kind.

A typescript of the original Persian text of this prayer appears below.
