“O spiritual friends! Though outwardly we be distant and separated one from another, yet in reality we are gathered together…”

What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the original text of which has been published in Fárán-i-Ḥubb, p. 111 (among other places).

To Áqá ʻAbdu’r-Raḥím and the illustrious sons of Mírzá Áqá-Ján, Mírzá Javád, and Mírzá Muḥammad-Qulí, upon them be the Glory of God, the Most Glorious

He is God

O spiritual friends! Though outwardly we be distant and separated one from another, yet in reality we are gathered together as close friends in an assemblage of joy and gladness, abiding beneath the shadow of the providence of the All-Forgiving Lord and inebriated with that cup “tempered at the camphor fountain,”* for the bounties of Him Who is the Ocean of oceans encompass us all, and we have attained the supreme triumph. We are the waves of one sea and the drops of one stream. We have received the effulgence of one Sun and have been nurtured by the outpourings of one Cloud. This being the case, we are companions and confidants enjoying intimate fellowship every morn and eve. No separation is there whatsoever between us, rather are we manifest and evident, enamored and enraptured. My hope is such that, through the bounty of the peerless Lord, ye may be aided with divine favors and assisted with infinite grace. Upon you be the Glory of the All-Glorious.
