What follows is my provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a Tablet of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, the original text of which is published in Makátíb-i-Ḥaḍrat-i-‘Abdu’l-Bahá, vol. 8, pp. 95–96.
He is the All-Glorious
O dear leader! Scientists believe there to be no substance upon the earth that moveth with the swiftness of the electric current. Its power is intense, but they are unaware of the speed and potency of the divine current. The movement of the former current is subject to time, but the flow and motion of the latter current are not bound by this constraint. It reacheth from the lowest realm to the highest in less than the twinkling of an eye, and instantly returneth from the highest realm to the lowest. Its wire is the knowledge of God, and its components are the love of God; its force stirreth worlds to motion, and its influence endureth forever.
Therefore, O leader, install one end of this wire in the center of thy heart, and extend and connect the other end to the highest realm, that the divine current of inspiration may perpetually manifest the wisdom of the All-Merciful.
Upon thee be greetings and praise.
