A Marriage Prayer by Abdu’l-Baha for Ahmad Sohrab and Juanita Storch

What follows is a provisional translation (in other words, not official or authorized; see here for more) of a prayer of ʻAbduʼl-Bahá extracted from a Tablet originally published in Najm-i-Bákhtar, vol. 11, no. 4, p. 78. An earlier translation of the full Tablet (which includes this prayer), produced by Ahmad Sohrab himself, is published in Star of the West, vol. 11, no. 5, pp. 88–89

O God, my God! We are wedded in love of Thy beauty, in hope of Thy good-pleasure, and in eagerness to be of service to Thee. Lord! Make us one in both body and spirit, and help us to succeed through Thy confirmations, that we may arise wholly to serve Thee, severed from all else save Thee, firm in Thy Covenant and Thy Testament, and detached from everything but Thy love. Aid us to achieve this, O Lord. Thou, verily, art the Sustainer, the Almighty, the All-Glorious, the Most Powerful.

A typescript of the original Arabic text of this prayer appears below (all vocalization and punctuation mine).
